May 1, 2024 - First Day! Full Day Preschool Program »
Dear Cinnaminson Families,
Cinnaminson Township Public School District is pleased to be one of sixteen New
Jersey school districts to receive preschool expansion aid. The District will receive
$290,280 in preschool expansion funding which will create a path for the district to offer
full-day preschool to families in the township.
We are excited to start the process of bringing a comprehensive preschool program to
all families in Cinnaminson. The Governor’s announcement is a true win for our district
and families. We look forward to working with our community to help bring universal
pre-k to fruition.
Our Cinnaminson Board of Education firmly believes that access to quality early
childhood education pays dividends throughout students’ educational careers and lives.
Increasing access will have both an immediate impact in our community as well as
many years of prolonged benefits.
The current preschool model includes two sections of tuition-based, part-time preschool.
Under the guidelines of the expansion grant, existing students will transition to full-time
on May 1st and tuition will be returned to families. Moving forward, classrooms funded
with preschool expansion aid money will also be tuition-free full-time.
The preschool expansion funding for this current school year and the 2024-2025 school
year will fund two integrated preschool classrooms which will be housed at the Memorial
School. Students selected as a part of the 2024-2025 pre-K lottery will be offered
full-time spots in the two classrooms. While there is a current waiting list, we will open
the list for additional families to join. The district's implementation plan calls for additional
preschool classes in subsequent years as the district grows capacity to accommodate
the anticipated three-year-old and four-year-old population of over 300 students.
I want to recognize the work of our Board of Education and administration in advancing
this initiative. The district will provide the community with periodic updates on preschool
expansion as the Board of Education finalizes the long-range plan for implementation.
